Set up positions

Keep a list of the spots your band fills for a gig, like Vocals, Drums or Keys, so every setlist lineup is built the same way.

Last updated October 26, 2026

Positions are what people play on a setlist: vocals, guitar, bass, drums. Each space keeps one list of them. When you build a setlist's lineup, you pick from this list and then find someone to fill each spot.

Positions are optional. Without them, a lineup is just a list of who is playing.

You need the Manage setlists permission. It is off by default for members; the owner can turn it on for everyone or give it to a role.

Create a position

  1. Click the space name at the top of the sidebar and open Space settings.
  2. Open the Positions tab.
  3. Click + Add position. A position called New position appears and opens on the right.
  4. Type a Position name, pick a Color, and click Save changes in the bar at the bottom.

Rename, recolour or reorder

Click any position in the list to change its name or colour. Drag positions up and down to change the order.

Delete a position

Open the position and click Delete position. People already assigned to it on setlists keep their spot, but lose the label.

Create one while building a lineup

You don't have to set everything up first. On a setlist's People tab, click Add position, type a name that isn't in the list yet, and press Enter (or click Create). The new position is added to the space's list as well, so it is there for the next gig.

In the app

Tap the space in the bar along the bottom of the screen, tap the settings icon next to the space, then tap Positions. You can add, edit, reorder and delete positions there too.

Next, fill the positions for a gig: see Assign bandmates to a setlist.
