Last updated October 26, 2026

Music Planner has an app for iPhone, iPad and Android. It uses the same account as the website, so your spaces, songs and setlists are already there when you log in.

Install and log in

  1. Get Music Planner from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open it and enter the Email and Password you use on the web, then tap Log in. On iPhone and iPad you can tap Continue with Apple instead, and on Android Continue with Google.
  3. No account yet? Tap Create an account at the bottom of the screen.

Find your way around

The bar along the bottom of the screen has four parts:

  • Space: the band you're looking at. Tap it to switch if you're in more than one.
  • Setlists: your upcoming setlists, with the date, time and running order.
  • Songs: the space's song library.
  • Your avatar: your profile and account settings, appearance (light or dark), calendar sync and, on Android, home screen widgets.

What you can do in the app

  • Create and edit setlists, add songs, reorder them and see who's going.
  • Answer setlist invites, one position at a time if you've been asked to cover more than one.
  • Add songs and set their key, BPM and time signature.
  • Practise with the player: play a song's stems, mute or solo each one, loop a section, and change the key and tempo. Your settings follow you to the web.
  • Read chord charts and transpose them.
  • Go LIVE: charts full screen, a swipe or a tap per page, with zoom, a capo setting and notes you draw on the chart. Notes you draw on your phone show up on the web too, and the other way round.

LIVE is included with the Gig and Stage plans, the same as on the web. On a Starter space, tapping Go live tells you the space needs an upgrade, which you do on the web.

Stem splitting, bulk upload and writing chord charts are on the web for now. See Split a song into stems and Write a chord chart.

Your account

Tap your avatar for your account settings:

  • Edit profile, Change email, Change password: the same account details as on the web.
  • Calendar sync: adds your setlists to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or any calendar app that can subscribe to a link. Pending invites can show as tentative. See Sync setlists to your calendar.
  • Delete account: removes your account for good. If you own a space, transfer or delete it first. See Change your email, password or delete your account.

Links from emails

When the app is installed, tapping a setlist invite or a space invitation in an email opens it in the app instead of the browser.

On Android: home screen widgets

Android phones and tablets can keep your next setlist and your invites on the home screen. See Add home screen widgets.
