Music Planner

Add home screen widgets

Put your next setlist, your upcoming setlists or your invites on your Android home screen, pick which band each one follows, and answer invites without opening the app.

Last updated October 22, 2026

Music Planner has three home screen widgets. They're on Android for now; there are no iPhone or iPad widgets yet.

  • Next setlist: your next setlist, its first songs and a button into it. Once you've accepted the setlist, the button opens LIVE. Resize it down to a one-line shortcut, or up to see more songs.
  • Invites: your soonest unanswered setlist invite, with I'm in and Can't make it buttons.
  • Upcoming setlists: your next few setlists, with the date, space and start time. Make it taller to see more.

Add a widget from the app

  1. Tap your avatar in the bottom right corner.
  2. Under Preferences, tap Home screen widgets.
  3. Tap Add to home screen under the widget you want, then confirm in the box your phone shows.

Some home screens don't support adding widgets from an app. If you see a message saying so, add it from the home screen instead.

Add a widget from the home screen

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen.
  2. Tap Widgets.
  3. Find Music Planner, then drag the widget you want onto the home screen.

The exact words depend on your phone, but every Android home screen has a widget list like this.

Choose what a widget shows

When you add a Next setlist or Upcoming setlists widget, a settings screen opens first. Each copy of a widget has its own settings, so you can keep one for each band.

  • Space: All spaces, or one band.
  • My setlists: setlists you're invited to or have accepted. This is the default.
  • Accepted only: only the gigs you've said yes to.
  • Everything in the space: every setlist, including ones you're not playing.

Tap Save widget to place it. To change the settings later, touch and hold the widget and tap its settings or edit button (on some phones, Reconfigure).

The Invites widget has no settings. It shows invites from every space you're in.

Answer an invite from the widget

Tap I'm in or Can't make it. The widget shows Sending your answer... and then moves on to your next invite, or says You're all caught up. Tap anywhere else on the widget to open the setlist in the app.

When widgets update

Widgets refresh by themselves about every 30 minutes, and straight away whenever you leave the app. If a new setlist hasn't appeared yet, open Music Planner and go back to the home screen.

If a widget doesn't look right

  • Sign in to Music Planner: you're logged out of the app. Open it and log in.
  • Nothing coming up: there are no upcoming setlists that match the widget's settings. Check its space and what it shows.
  • Couldn't load: the widget couldn't reach Music Planner, usually because you're offline. Tap it to open the app; it tries again on its next refresh.
  • Couldn't send your answer: your invite answer didn't go through. Tap the widget to answer in the app.
