Upload songs

Add recordings to your space by drag and drop, create a song without audio, and edit its name, artist, key and tempo later.

Last updated September 28, 2026

Every song in a space starts either as an uploaded recording or as a song you create by hand and add audio to later. Both end up in the Songs library, where the whole band can open them.

You need the Manage songs permission, which members have by default.

Upload a recording

  1. Open Songs and click Upload in the top right.
  2. Drop your files on the drop zone or click Select files. You can drop several at once.
  3. Wait for the progress bar on each file to finish, then click View to open the song.

MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG and WebM files work, up to 50 MB each. The song name is taken from the file name, and the key and tempo are detected after upload.

Use the best quality recording you have. Stems and the waveform can only be as clean as the mix they come from.

Add a song without a recording

  1. On the upload page, click Create manually.
  2. Search for the song by name to fill in the details, or type the Name, Artist, Original key, Original bpm and time signature yourself.
  3. Click Add.

Songs found through the search box may arrive with a chord chart already filled in. See Write a chord chart.

To add audio later, open the song and drop the file on the Song tab.

Edit a song's details

Open the song, click the menu (the three lines in the header) and choose Edit song. You can change the picture, name, artist, original key and original tempo. The key matters: it drives the chord suggestions, the numbers view and the key badge in Live mode.

Song limits

Each space can hold a set number of songs: 30 on Starter, 250 on Gig and 1,000 on Stage. When the limit is reached you will see Song limit reached for your subscription tier. Delete songs you no longer need, or upgrade the space in Space settings.

Troubleshooting

  • A file was rejected: the app tells you why: it is over 50 MB, empty, or not a supported audio format. Convert it or trim it and try again.
  • Key or tempo is wrong: detection is automatic and not always right. Fix it in Edit song.
  • The upload seems stuck: reload the page. Files that finished are already in the library; drop the rest again.
